If you could see my frig you'd just die!! It's jam-packed full of goodies. Admittedly, they are not all healthy goodies but I work on eating healthy every day and I've even gotten better on holidays but this year my boys will want some of their old favorites so they're going to get them. Maybe next year I'll try reworking some of the traditional dishes in a healthier manner but this year they get a lot of memories. Hey, I know, I know - but it is only once in a great many years - so condemn me if you want but I really don't care!!!
Christmas Dinner places will consist of our youngest son, his wife, hubby and me; so we're having Baked Ham, Cheesy Party Potatoes, Creamed Corn, pearsauce, a deviled egg and veggie platter, biscuits with jams and jellies and Old-Fashioned Sweet Potato Pie. The next day when the rest of the family comes in we will have a "party" in the evening with all kinds of goodies, open presents and play games. Friday we're having another family dinner where we will be having Baked Chicken, Pheasant Au Vin, Mashed Potatoes, gravy, green beans, roasted or creamed carrots (I haven't made up my mind yet), large salad, another deviled egg platter, hot rolls, Cinnamon Pecan Cheesecake and Pecan Tarts. All of it is fairly simple to prepare if I just keep my head about me. With so many people around running in every direction, talking and laughing - it's not always easy staying focused!!
