I really don't have a lot that I HAVE to do today. There are a lot of things I COULD do but no "have-to's". I took a walk out to the herb garden this morning because it was windy, and also smelled and felt so good outside. The blossoms from the wild black cherry trees were snowing down on my herb garden. This only happens once a year and since my herb garden sits back in an alcove that has wild black cherry trees on 3 sides, when the wind hits and the blossoms drop, well, it is an amazing sight. It doesn't last long because the blossoms will turn brown in the sun so you gotta be there right when it happens. I ran in the house and grabbed my camera but I was pretty sure there was no way I could catch it all on camera. I tried but I'm a lousy photographer. It's just so beautiful and happens every Spring, just ordinary black cherry blossoms flowing down on my herb garden like snow from the sky. It really is such an amazing sight and brings out a childlike daydreaming side of me that feels so pleasant and heartwarming. I'm like a little fairy in a fantasy land and it's all mine, I say, all mine!! TeeHee!!!
It was such a beautiful morning!! It was the very first morning that I was able to get up and walk outside without having to put on a hoodie or jacket. It was simply wonderful!! I went outside and fed the chickens, wiped down the deck railings, put my pillows down (we always tip them up so no animal decides to get cozy on them at night), watered plants and, you know - all the morning ritual stuff that keeps a place going. I also went out to the vegetable garden and took off all the covers from the vegetable plants and then finally, got my first cup of coffee.

AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
