This morning it was cool and slightly overcast but it was a beautiful morning. My old coffee pot bit the dust yesterday morning and leaked out all over my kitchen counter so this morning we had coffee from our "new" coffee pot. I was just grateful there was no mess to clean up.
I drank a cup of coffee and then went into the kitchen and made croutons for the tomato soup I had started on the stove and then went to work on a peach cobbler. The house smells so good! I went out, as I like to do when I'm in the cooking mode, and cut a bunch of herbs and put them in a quart jar to sit on the counter. You know, even if you don't find a reason to use them in your cooking, they are absolutely sensational to decorate plates with. I then went and jumped in the shower and tried to make myself look presentable for our company who will be here in a couple hours. I am so excited! My niece talks herbs - need I say more?
It's 10:44 p.m. and no, I hadn't forgotten about you all, I've just been very busy. We've talked herbs, picked strawberries, target practiced, grilled out and ate until we can't eat anymore. It's been a really, really nice day. I'm not sure I could fit much more in.
I'm already thinking about all the things I have to do next week. With the sun finally coming out and warming things up everything will be growing at an alarming rate and I've got to stay on top of it. Time to sit down and make a list.
But tomorrow is Sunday. I'll worry about all that stuff on Monday!!
