We're back!! We had the funnest visit ever. My granddaughters were just as wonderful as they could be. For those of you that have grandchildren you know what I mean when I say they are simply the best, aren't they? I got to pull my two around the block in a wagon and hug and play with them. We drew pictures on the sidewalk with chalk, drew a hopscotch game and hopped, although my youngest son said my hop looked a little different than theirs - more of a slow-motion bounce. Can't imagine what he meant by that! TeeHee!! I thought I was hopping along light as a feather.
My daughter-in-law fixed a delicious lunch and hubby was bragging big time on the way home. She and I also got out after lunch and walked around the block in the sunshine and talked a good while. Well, actually, I talked and she listened but she's an awfully good listener. I needed someone to listen, just listen. Do you ever need that? Do any of you have times when you feel like you're going through life and there's so much you just want to say out loud but there's no one to listen to you and you want so desperately for someone to hear you? I know that sounds silly but being able to say it out loud to someone who is really listening allows you to get things off your chest and it helps you see things clearer and the heaviness you've felt isn't quite so bad anymore. She did this for me today and I thank her for her kindness.
We left their house this afternoon and decided to drop by one of our local restaurants and have dinner out. That way I didn't have to come home and cook. I have to admit, as much as I love cooking, it's nice every once in a while to let somebody else do the cooking and today I didn't have to cook at all!! It was amazing day.
