Today it's raining cats and dogs and the temperatures are beginning to dive. Hubby is watching a John Wayne television movie and I'm . . . well . . . bored!! John Wayne - ick!!!! LOL!!! I think today I'll stick to laundry!!
Have you all been receiving your seed magazines? Now is the time to be thinking about your gardens - because now you probably/hopefully have a little extra time on your hands. At least I hope so-for you! It's time to check your stores of seed, get your order for seeds made, get your diagrams ready and prepare for a beautiful Spring to come. I still have to order some non-GMO corn for planting but I think I have all my other seed ready. I am going to order some herb plants and have to take a look at what other herbs I might need. I haven't gotten that far yet but I'll get to it shortly. I'm also looking for something a little different to plant - vegetable or herb. If any of you have an unusual seed/plant that you grow and have found it useful let me know, and let me know how you use it as well. I really would like to try something different this year!!
Today I do laundry and am making Elderberry Syrup to can up. I'm sure the flu bug will make another round and I don't want to be left empty-handed.
I left my bay tree and rosemary plants outside this year for as long as I could but it's time to get the bay tree in. I think I'm just going to cover my rosemary plants. I'll kill them if I bring them in. I've tried and tried to overwinter them in the house but to no avail. I envy those who can grow them inside. I can grow them outside, easy as can be; but as soon as I dig them up and try to bring them in, they are as good as dead! The bay tree will go into the garage along with the lemongrass and will do just fine. So, I'm off to get some buckets to cover the plants!!
