I got to the reception hall and carried all of it in and found there was not enough room in the frig for everything, but I felt I had that fairly well covered. I had a big cooler with milk containers I had previously filled with water and frozen so I had lots of ice in the bottom. I opened the cooler and sat the 2 extra platters of veggie shooters on top and kept the shrimp shooters in the frig. Then I put the 2 crockpots on the table, 1 with Artichoke Dip in it and 1 with Spinach Dip. The decorating committee had set a table up in the kitchen and it was really going to be useful except that they had NOT put the table up correctly and after putting both the crockpots on the table - it fell. It broke the crockpot with the Spinach Dip but I did manage to save the Artichoke Dip. That, my friends, was just about the time I nearly lost it, because I have to admit, I was tired. I had worked all day, loaded, and wah, wah, wah!! Anyway, I got that mess cleaned up, with my knees still shaking and my stomach about to upchuck and went out into the dining hall and instead of 2 tables set up and ready for the food there was only 1. There's always something that goes wrong at weddings and/or receptions, that's a given, but by that time I just gave up and flurried my way around trying to readjust my whole set-up. Bottom line is - it turned out perfectly. No one knew a thing happened or that everything wasn't supposed to be just the way it was. There was plenty of dip and way plenty of everything else!! Quite an experience. I was on the road and back home by about midnight. Slept that night!!!
Sunday afternoon I had to work, not much choice, had to pick green beans, cabbage, broccoli, summer squash zucchini, cucumbers and raspberries. I don't like to work on Sunday but it had to be done. It did make for one whoppin' good supper!!!

It was a lovely Monday morning. Hubby and I sat out on our front deck and watched the Purple Martins. I don’t know why but they were in a real flurry this morning and exceptionally chatty. We were watching and counting and it looks like their numbers have grown to 12. It would be so wonderful to have all 12 or more of them back here next year and starting families. Imagine having so many we might actually have to put up another box. Wouldn’t that be something!!
I hadn’t been into the office since July 2 so today has been a catch-up day but all in all, not too bad. I stopped by the grocery store after work and picked up some pineapple juice, sugar, baggies, pickling salt, white vinegar and olive oil. I’m getting prepared for making zucchini pineapple, dill relish, flavored basil oil and red raspberry jelly. I like to make sure I have all my ingredients on hand before I start. I’m rechecking my cabinets and recipes tonight and if I missed anything I’ll get it on my way home tomorrow and I’ll be ready to start Wednesday.
Mondays are sort of a wash out around here as you’ve probably realized if you read my blog regularly. I just sort of do whatever I feel I need because I’m usually fairly pooped. Tonight I picked more zucchini and yellow summer squash, and cucumbers. I also made more sugar water for the hummers and finished 3 loads of laundry. We’re having leftover green beans, cooked cabbage, potato salad, applesauce, sliced cucumbers and fried ham sandwiches. Surely we’ll find something we like in that mess!!
