You wouldn't think a program entitled, "Salad Fit for An Herbalist" would be any trouble or any big deal at all; but when you talk about herbs there's so much involved. Generally speaking most herb salad dressings have herbs in them, right? Well, which herbs - and herbs used in what manner? Let's take just one aspect - salt. Have you any idea at all how many herbed salt recipes there are out there and do you know there are 3 "basic" ways to make your herb salts?
Consider the acid that goes in dressings. Most people commonly think lemon juice or vinegar. When was the last time you tried an herbal vinegar? If it hasn't been yesterday or today - then you need to rethink what you're making your salad dressings with. Herb Vinegars are the bomb.
Speaking of bombs. The new item on the market nowadays are "Flavorbombs". Now there's something new!! NOT!! Old as the hills. I've been making Flavorbombs for years and didn't know it. I'll put the recipe for them on my Recipes page next week. Some of my herb friends might be reading this and I don't want to give EVERYTHING away!!
Now, also, don't forget herb oils. When's the last time you made a pasta salad? Herb oils take pasta salads to a whole new level AND make it much easier to integrate flavor into your pasta dish.
And oh my gosh - don't forget about croutons!!! Herbed croutons, oh my!
See what I mean? I'm just going nuts trying to get so much into a little old herb program. Gosh, but it's fun!!
