I tried, honest, I tried!! Hubby ended up with a delicious bread pudding with brown sugar vanilla sauce. Could not help myself!

Goodness!!! I've been lazy as can be today. I even took a nap on the couch. I've spent a good deal of the day planning and organizing. I find that I start wondering what do I do now, what's next, and I realize it's time to sit down, get a notepad and on a page of paper start making lists. I usually start by putting the days of the week down and then writing down beside the day what I will be doing or for that matter, what I "have" to do. Then once you get that down you'll see that you need to move stuff around because of that function you have to attend or an item you realize will be taking more of your time than you have to give on that particular day. It's actually kind of like a puzzle. Don't let it get to you. Realize that this will sharpen your management skills.
I then take 4 more pages and make my basic meal plans for 2 to 4 weeks. I can't seem to make plans for any longer than that. Everything I do seems to work better on a month-by-month plan. I don't always follow my meal plans to the T because sometimes I have more leftovers than expected and I make it a habit to use all the leftovers I possibly can. You don't want to make a list that is iron clad. You have to leave room for changes in your plans. There are days that I'm so tired you couldn't make me cook!! There will be other days that change like overnight and you had no plans whatsoever to do what you are doing. Hey, that's life. Roll with it friends. Have something you call your "emergency meal". It could be as simple as scrambled eggs, cereal and toast, frozen pizza, or canned vegetable soup. Fried egg sandwiches are a good one for me and hotdogs. Pancakes is another one. I've got to admit that canned vegetable soup and frozen pizzas are my favorite. My plans are on a little steno pad that lays on my Recipe Book counter and it keeps me on top of things and at least headed in the right direction. Try it. Start small. You might find it's a tremendous help!!
