I went to town and met hubby at work and we picked up the last of what we needed for the chickens. Yes, I could have done all that alone but hubby is buying everything to get me started raising chickens as my wedding anniversary gift. You might think that is silly but he knows that I am so looking forward to raising chickens and it's not cheap getting started from scratch either!! It's very much appreciated. He knows me well and this means a lot to me.
I also got busy and made up some tonic tea that I drink during the summer months. I work hard during the summer, sweat a lot and strain a lot of muscles and this tea has so many health-enhancing benefits. I drink it iced and it contains no caffeine. It's not the absolute tastiest tea but when you're hot, sore and tired it fits the bill perfectly. If you're interested in the recipe go to my Recipes page and it will be there for you.
I cleaned out the refrigerator freezer today and ran across some mushrooms I had frozen from this past year and decided to take a Sirloin Steak and put it in the crock pot with sliced onions, mushrooms and Herbes de Provence and made a nice gravy out of it after it was cooked for eating with mashed potatoes. Then I fixed a side of cheesy creamed broccoli and opened a can of green beans too. Hubby had a friend over and they lapped supper up and then had some ice cold canned peaches and oatmeal cookies. They are outside now on the deck talking and gazing at the lake. This weather has just made everyone feel so-o-o much better.
