Most of the snow has finally melted and the animals are truly "feeling their oats". The horses are picking at each other, the chickens are out in their run and the dog is bouncing around in his pen. We are ALL quite ready for the approach of Spring and this weather is setting us up pretty doggone well!! We're looking at some rain in the next couple days but that sure beats ice and snow. Meanwhile, I'm babying my seedlings and getting everything ready for the day we actually start working outside. There are preparations to be made so we can focus on the garden and I want to have all my duckies in a row.
When my granddaughters were here we made personal pan pizzas. I fried up some hamburger and sausage and there was still some leftover when we were finished; so today, I added the other half pound of hamburger, the leftover chopped onions, green peppers and olives and fried that up until the burger was done. I'm going to make Taco Pie with these leftovers. If any of you would like the recipe let me know and I'll get it on my Recipes page. It's really easy and fairly tasty too. I can't say it's exquisite, by any means, but it's not bad.
My girls laid 7 eggs today. I get hysterical when I think about it too much. LOL!!! Two days and I have a dozen eggs. I've gone a month on a dozen eggs in the past but since I started raising chickens, eggs are a very common commodity. I have to actually stop and think about how very cool this is to have so many eggs - and such wonderful chickens!!!
Well, I'm off to the kitchen to make a cup of Golden Turmeric Milk. See Ya!
