Last night after I finished my blog I fixed supper. We had meatloaf, steamed yellow squash and zucchini with lime butter and had pineapple zucchini on the side. Of course hubby had to have butter and bread just so he could try the Peach Butter I had made. He said the Peach Butter begged for hot biscuits! After we ate and I rested a little I went outside and did some weeding in my rose bed, weeded around my Mother’s Day White Rose, the Purple Hyacinth Bean and weeded and watered the Boomerang Lilac. By that time I was dripping in sweat so I came in, took an ice cold shower, put on my jammies and was a couch potato for the next hour. Yesterday was a very full day.
This is the last day of work this week and then I’m off until next Thursday. We have family reunion on Saturday and are bringing our granddaughter back home with us so I took a couple vacation days. I am so excited. She is just so much fun to have around. Consequently, after work I went to the grocery store and picked up some items that I’m low on and couldn't resist picking up a watermelon and cantaloupe. I'm a sucker for fresh, cold fruit.
I still have a couple loads of laundry to finish tonight and I want to mop my kitchen floor. Goodness, I’m such a pig when I put up garden produce. I’ve kept my floors swept and all my dishes washed up but yesterday I spilled some sugar water on the floor while canning peaches and yikes, I can’t handle a sticky floor. I tried to wipe it all up last night and this morning it was still sticky. Nothing will do until I get it mopped thoroughly!! I really should pick beans too but that’s not going to happen tonight. Hey, everybody needs a little down time, ya know?
