Papaw was a hit yesterday with his granddaughters. He played dress-up with the little one and wore his fair share of jewelry! He took the oldest one out to ride the horses and even had a tea party. He was "the man" yesterday.

Since Hubby and I have already celebrated Memorial Day we decided today would be a day dedicated to a "Labor of Love". We have a whole bunch of work we could be doing on the place. In fact, we ALWAYS have a whole bunch of work to be doing here. It never ceases!! Today though we can choose to do nothing; but if we wish, we can work on a "Labor of Love". Work that is truly our own joy. For me it's working in the herb garden and for hubby it's working in the veggie garden. (He says, "for awhile"!!) Basically, this is going to be a laid back day for us. Nothing spectacular but everything wondrous!! I've already collected 3 eggs this morning and Ms. Rhode Island Red laid another huge egg for me. That's 3 now. They are huge, I tell you, HUGE!!! I also went out and pulled some radishes. As silly as it sounds, I've never grown very healthy, nice radishes. I always wanted to but of all the things I've failed to be able to raise, who would have guessed? This year though I have at last been successful. What's pretty nice too is the fact that I love to eat radishes and the leaves and scraps left after cleaning them can be given to the chickens so not even a tiny bit is left as waste. Now that's my kind of food. -------------- Papaw was a hit yesterday with his granddaughters. He played dress-up with the little one and wore his fair share of jewelry! AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
