After we got up we saw the daughter-in-law off so she could be with her family and friends in Chicago, we then saw Hubby off to work . . . and then there were two! My son says it's been a humbling day, running around with his Mother and on top of that in her van - with her at the wheel!! He has decided he's much too old for that!! I told him to thank his lucky stars he still had a Mother and behave!! "Just like the good ole days!!"
First we went to Hubby's work where my son tried on boots and jeans and jackets and his Dad got to introduce him around. Then we went to Taco Bell. When my youngest was in college we would meet at lunch time and I would buy him lunch. Taco Bell was "our" spot so we figured it was the perfect place to eat lunch. It was a nice memory. We then went to Wal-Mart since one of the purchases I had made online was in and needed to be picked up. Also, we had to pick up some last minute groceries and finally we made it home.
I was exhausted and I hadn't even begun. We're having Fried Quail, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, and hot rolls for supper. That's what he asked for and Hubby said it sounded good.
As for me? It really is good to have family home. It always is.
Tonight I need to do a little more Christmas wrapping because Fed Ex arrived yesterday and of course, I need to wrap the gift from Wal-Mart but other than that - I'm in the mood for a Hallmark movie!!
Tomorrow the men have to get lost so I can get my final candy and cookie baking finished. I also am going to fix my famous Chicken Salad and make some White Chili. Got to stay ahead of this bunch. They will eat you out of house and home!!!
