As you celebrate this date, July 4, 2013, my hopes and prayers are for your complete understanding of what this day really, really means and for what it stands. A country born of blood, sweat and tears; of men and women refined by honor, courage and hope; a home where God rests as the head laying a foundation of faith for a country where all men are created equal enabling them to have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. When you look out over – whatever you have – on this beautiful day, ask yourself one question. What would life be like in another country? Then, my dear friends, stop and give thanks and pray that we can find our way clear to uphold all that was fought for, died for and lived for. Pray that we can once again stop and “think” and then “act”. Iron sharpens iron – that's a statement hubby made this morning. Think about it. Have we lost the ability to struggle and grow from adverse circumstances? Have we really? Are we unable to reach down into our guts and find the courage to stand, to march to the drumbeat of our constitution once again? I am reminded of a piece of scripture, 2 Chronicles 7:14 - “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Once again Happy Independence Day!
