First I've got some shopping to do. I need a few things that I simply feel I can't live without. One of them is sugar. Yes, I have some on standby but I need to stay on top of things so I'm going to buy another 10 pounds or so. I'm really not needing extra sugar for me - my hummingbirds, though, are eating me out of house and home. I fill the feeders one day and have to fill them again the next. They are loading up early this year and when you have 20 or 30 of those little boogers you've got some major guzzling going on. I'm wondering if this means they're heading south sooner than usual due to early incoming cold weather? Trust me nature will tell you a lot if you're watching!

I'm finishing up the laundry I started yesterday and will be slicing up the red peppers for the freezer. Also, sometime this evening I need to go out to the chicken coop and clean it up a bit. I want to have everything cleaned up and in its proper place before I leave.
I also need to talk to my oldest son to see if he wants to come fishing this week-end. I'm sure his Dad could use the company and that boy does LOVE to fish!!
So I will only be blogging one more day - tomorrow - and then I'll not be back online until Tuesday of next week. You could probably use a break from me anyway, huh!!!
Meanwhile, I walked out to the herb garden today to see if my figs were ripe yet. Nope!! I can't wait to sink my teeth into one of those figs but they aren't even close to ripening. While I was out there I picked some zinnias for the dining table. They are so colorful and very cheery.
I can't believe the chia plants. They are taller than I am! I truly don't know what to expect with them so it's a whole new experience for me.
The basil is growing like crazy but I feel Fall. It's coming folks - it's coming!
