YAHOO!!!! I found a couple one town over that keeps bees and has honey for sale!! I was so excited I could barely contain myself. I wasn't even sure about where I was going or who I would find but when I got there I was able to see some of their hives and talked to them and I feel as though I've made a special friend in the wife. If I'd known the good luck I was going to have I'd brought more money. I'm going back again next week and get a couple more quarts. I would like to put a couple in my emergency stores and keep two, 1 for the house and 1 for my Winter medicines. Come to think of it, I'd better get 3 quarts instead. I made a whole boatload of cough and cold syrup last year and having good honey in your syrup is a must.
It was almost noon and getting really hot. I went out to the garden, picked the yellow squash, cucumbers and zucchini and went on into the house to cool off and do some laundry. There's been so much to do here lately I can't seem to stay on task and get my laundry completely done. I've got to buckle down. I checked the green beans while I was out and I will be picking beans in the morning and canning most of the day. It's that time folks, when old ladies like me start to get grumpy but just keep on going. When you garden it's just something you gotta do - not the grumpy part, LOL - the keep on going part!!!
We had a bologna sandwich for lunch and all I could think about was how good this would be with a slice of fresh tomato and lettuce. Yum!!! Come on tomatoes. Ripen will ya!!
We're having breakfast for supper and then back out to the garden. At least it will be cooler, I hope!!
