On the up-side, it won't be long and I can dig dandelion, sassafras, valerian and echinacea roots. I've especially used the fire out of the echinacea root from last year. I tinctured the root and it has come in so very handy. I use a lot of it for throat spray and drops in tea so I need to tincture more this year. I absolutely love tea made from echinacea root. It builds my immune system thereby protecting me from colds and flu; and if I do get sick, it is useful in easing colds and flu. It's wonderfully soothing for sore throats, and for mouth ulcers or gum issues it's exceptional.
Now I'm heading downstairs to the herb kitchen where I'll be preparing all sorts of herb and spice blends. I'm definitely making more Garlic Salt, Taco Seasoning, Pork Seasoning, Garlic and Onion Blend, Italian Seasoning and Poultry Blend. I still have plenty Spicy Blend, Ranch Dressing Blend and Herbes de Provence. I'll just have to check my stash and see what else I need. See ya!
I've been downstairs almost all day making herbal blends and salt substitutes. I just turn the radio on (loudly) and get lost in my own little world. I so enjoy working in herbs. I've got 2 more blends to make and I'll be finished; but I had to quit for awhile, come upstairs among the living and get started on supper!!! I'm deep-frying some fish that hubby fished out of our lake and that's not going to hurt my feelings one bit. I love fried fish!!! I also went outside to my cherry tomato plant, but honestly it looks more like a bush climbing all over my roses next to the house, and picked some tomatoes to have on the side. I can't believe how many cherry tomatoes I'm still getting but with the colder weather they're not long for this earth and I know it. For now though they are thoroughly being enjoyed!
