Today I mopped and finished getting the chicken coop ready. I used my Orange Peel Cleaner and it did a wonderful job on the floor of the coop. We had laid linoleum down and it cleaned it spic and span!! I also sprayed each of the laying boxes with the cleaner too. Then I went into the house and contacted my friend at the post office and she is going to call me next week when my girls come in. Monday I'll put the straw down, Monday evening Hubby and I will get the feed, oyster shell and diatomacious earth and then the chickens could actually be here anytime Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. So, I'm as ready as I can be at this point!
For the last week or so I've been trying really hard to modify my diet. I pour a half cup of coffee each morning and drink 2 half cups and I'm finding I don't finish either of them. I am trying to replace the coffee with herbal tea and so far I'm doing okay. I'm also trying to stay off so much salt too and oh my, that's a tough one. Hubby knows I love salty peanuts and a couple days ago, just to be nice, he brought home two huge bags. I wanted to cry. I go by the bowl of peanuts about 2 or 3 times a day and pick one up and savor the flavor but so far I've not indulged any more than that. Today for lunch there was some fried leftover ham. Now I had a half ham sandwich yesterday for lunch with mustard but I'm doing my best to refrain. I went downstairs and got a quart of homemade vegetable soup and am hoping that holds me off. I am totally NOT going to completely give up everything I love but hey, it wouldn't hurt to back off right now and maybe if I do it like this I will slowly lose my taste for some of those undeniably, albeit luscious, caffeine-laden, fattening, salty, cholesterol-filled delights!!!
Tonight is spaghetti night. Everyone has just finished and are moaning. Not me though, I was a good girl!!
