After that I went out to the herb garden. If a piece of property could have shed tears this year, it would have been my herb garden. Mercy, this past Winter really, really took its toll, then add to that the deer, and my nemesis, Mr. Squirrel!! Herbs, though, are very forgiving. Next year will be here before you know it and I'll be ooohing and aaahing over this herb and that. It will all work out. My fig tree survived but it's small and the figs are just now forming. I'm not sure there's enough of the season left for them to ripen. They need a long, hot Summer. I had a glut of figs last year and dehydrated several bags so I'm not exactly hurting but fresh figs are just so good I can't begin to pretend I don't want them!
Hubby told me this morning that he would take care of supper. I really could have squeezed his neck because by the time I get the tomato sauce cooked down and canned - I most certainly will not be feeling like fixing a meal. Whatever he brings home or fixes will be so appreciated!!
Have a wonderful Sunday and I'll talk to you again on Monday.
