I went out yesterday evening and dug a few plants for herb club this evening. It’s the yearly plant exchange. I dug up two pots of Golden Yarrow, a pot each of Valerian, Orange Bergamot, Catnip, Garlic Chives and Feverfew.
My hubby and I went a little bananas yesterday. We needed some comfort food so I pulled out some frozen fish, he went to town and bought frozen crinkle cut extra-crispy fries, and we deep fried fish and french fries. My sister, when she visited last, brought me a pint of Frisch’s Big Boy Tartar Sauce. We were in tartar sauce/fish/fries heaven.
Any of you ever visited a Frisch’s Big Boy? No? Well let me tell you a little about it - when I was a teenager it was the happening place. You hadn’t lived until you had a date and then went to Frisch’s Big Boy afterwards. You ordered out under this huge metal canopy in your car along with what looked to be at least 50 other vehicles and then the carhop brought all your food and drinks out to you. They had the best Big Boy sandwich with tartar sauce and the onion rings - whoa!!! Awesome. Many a gal flashed an eye to the guys in the car across the way or sitting next to them and then next thing you knew you had a telephone number or a date lined up. Oh, and Frisch's was made for cruising too, round and round, pointing, waving, giggling, laughing and having a ball!! Ah, those were indeed wonderful days!! Anyway - same tartar sauce - so with that small pint jar of sauce came some really good old memories.
This morning I loaded my vehicle with the plants and a lawn chair and went merrily on my way to work. It wasn’t a bad day and the sun was shining and the herb club exchange was so enjoyable. There were new people there tonight and they seemed genuinely interested. It's always exciting to get to know new people, don't you think? Got home about 9:00 p.m. and am really tired. Hope you had a great day as well.
Oh, and for those of you who are following my pathetic attempts at losing a few pounds and becoming more healthy, today was weigh-in day and I put on 2 pounds. Go figure, tartar sauce, fried food and salt, then lots of water. All that salt made us so thirsty. At this point, I'm rather grateful it was ONLY 2 pounds. Bye.
