We don't have a humidifier in our home and every Winter it gets so dry. We've had what seems to be like such a long winter season already that I'm having to put bowls of water on the heating vents much earlier than normal and evidently it's also drier than I anticipated. I had to fill the bowls up this morning AGAIN, because they were bone dry.
Last night I put some Great Northern Beans in a pot to soak. This morning they're all plump and ready for cooking up for supper. I don't happen to have any ham hanging around so I decided to fry up some sausage and have sausage and beans, fried potatoes, fried cabbage, cornbread and onions for supper tonight. Now that's country eating and not too shabby either! I might even throw in a Custard Pie. Hubby would roll over and beg like a puppy for a Custard Pie!!!

Supper was really good. My son had told me he was desperate for some grease and tonight he got it. I really had not realized how much my cooking had changed. I don't do grease like I used to. Evidently I am finally accomplishing what I set out to do. Cooking more healthy!! Mercy, tonight though, I could feel the cholesterol bedding down in my veins but oh my, it's been awhile since I had fried potatoes. Yep, nice, crispy and . . . greasy!!
One more load of laundry and I'm finished for the day. See ya!
