Today I went out to the herb garden and worked up a space for garlic. I use a lot of garlic but I also wanted to plant extra since both of my sons love garlic as well. I like to have a little extra for them too.
I've been filling out paperwork and watching videos today because I have been offered employment at a local clothing store. Paperwork makes me crazy - always has - likely always will. I am, though, excited about working part-time. I really wasn't looking forward to the Winter season and this should keep me busy. How long I will work only time will tell but as long as I can keep things up here at home I will thoroughly enjoy being out and about.
My granddaughter is having a birthday party tomorrow. My goodness, she certainly is growing up fast. I wish I could slow it all down for her. Seems as though time flies by a lot faster than it used to. Remember when getting from Thanksgiving to Christmas was an eternity? Now it feels like you eat Thanksgiving dinner, turn around, and you're taking down the Christmas tree. I prefer slow and steady but life is fast - way too fast for me!!
Today has been a very lazy day and very dreary outside. I'm not complaining though . . . no sireee!! This weather beats the fire out of 90-plus temperatures. I've been outside taking stock of what still needs to be accomplished before the weather turns really cold.
Of course, don't get me wrong cooler temperatures, especially after the first frost, means horseradish can be dug and prepared, echinacea and valerian will need to be dug, dried and stored and dare I forget sassafras root? Ah, the pleasure of a hot cup of sassafras tea. Oooo-la-la!!
