This is my day off and hubby had to work but before he left he said several people at his workplace were already coughing, sneezing and running around with a cold so if I got the opportunity could I make some of that Elderberry Cough & Cold Syrup I made last year? ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE!!! Just the thing that I'd like to do today.
Right now my syrup is simmering but in about 20 minutes I'll strain and add the raw honey and the brandy for preserving and it will be finished. Honestly, we were not sick last year and I do believe it was because we kept this handy. Everytime we felt a scratch or that yukky feeling you get, you know, right before you come down with something - we took this syrup. I can't prove this did it but like I said, we weren't sick!!! I thought I had put it on my Recipes Page but when I looked for it I couldn't find it, but I'll get it on there for you. It really does seem to work!
Hmmm, now what am I going to do. I think I'm going to make some more Echinacea Throat Spray. This stuff is amazing! I'm also going to make another batch of Lavender Antiseptic and Calming Spritzer. We go through this in the Winter like crazy! I can never make enough. It's calming and just plain lovely to smell and you can't beat it because it's antiseptic as well and keeps down all those nasty germs. Now if I could just find a spray for the world!! TeeHee!!!

The weather turned a lot nicer this afternoon so I also went outside and dug all my parsnips up. There really weren't that many but I dug them and put them in 6 air-tight baggies in the bottom of the frig with the carrots. If you want to see pics of them check out my Pictures Page.
