I have decided on my dinner menu and feel pretty good about it. Some of my guests are gluten free eaters and I have tried to prepare a few items so that they don't overdo on foods that are not good for them.
I'm fixing both a Turkey and a Ham and will be making mashed potatoes and putting them in the crockpot. For me, mashed potatoes are a pain so I like to make them, get them in the crockpot - and forget about them. I've already made Cheesy Potatoes and they are in the freezer so I'll get them out and throw them in the oven to bake, then just keep them warm. That ought to be enough potatoes. Then of course, we will have turkey gravy and sweet ham gravy.
I'm making Dressing/Stuffing of course. I'm making the regular and also some gluten free.
Broccoli Cheese Casserole
Waldorf Salad
Creamed Cauliflower
Confetti Corn
Sweet Potatoes topped with ooey-gooey Marshmallows, just for my oldest granddaughter
Cowboy Beans, which will be put in my other crock pot
Purple Hull Peas with Ham
Buttered Carrots
Green Beans with Slivered Almonds
Potato Salad
Vegetable platter with Deviled Eggs, for my youngest granddaughter (she's gotta have "debiled" eggs! LOL!!)
Of course, there will be Herbed Mustard, homemade Horseradish, Sweet Crock Pickles, Olives and Cranberry Sauce.
They are going to have to suffer through with store-bought rolls, but I will have all kinds of jellies and jams to plop on those buttery hot babies.
Each of my guests are supposed to bring a dessert but I will no doubt have a few sitting out. I have a few requests so I must make sure they are available.
Wow!! That looks like a lot now that I've typed it all out!!!!!
