Regardless of the weather issues today I'm trying my hand at Cowboy Candy. I am SO excited!!
----------
Hubby was mowing the grass today and I heard the mower stop and next thing the kitchen door was opening and Hubby was looking a wee bit nervous! He had run over a yellow jacket nest. Hubby has run into yellow jacket nests before while he was out on horseback and that isn't funny, and then one year when he was hunting and that wasn't funny at all, so he knows pretty much what he's talking about here. He said it was the biggest nest he's ever seen!! That is definitely not funny!! It's right on top of our septic system and when I went out to see it, even with standing a ways off, it was obvious that it was a huge nest. I'm not exactly sure what he'll do to get rid of it but we HAVE to get rid of it. We had a nest in my herb garden a few years back and poured gasoline down the hole in the evening after they had calmed down. Obviously, that can't be a very "green" way to handle it but these guys have gotta go!!
I fixed meatloaf and potatoes au gratin along with leftover green beans, squash, and fresh tomatoes for supper. It was just good old country eating but seemed to do the trick.
WOW!!!! Try Cowboy Candy if you wish but be ready!! It's hot!! Sweet but hot, hot, hot!!
