While having coffee this morning we had a visitor. It was very young and I got pictures for you!! All I can say to this is - folks, count your blessings - I am!!
Hello!! This day is starting off really well!! I went out to pick tomatoes and I don't have quite enough to make a canner so - yahoo - I'm not canning tomatoes today. I did cut some broccoli. There was just enough for a meal. It's hot enough now that the broccoli has come to almost a standstill and I may get enough for one more meal off of them - but it's probably time to cut them down in a week or two. The peppers are growing strong and huge, the eggplant is still producing, even though slowly, and the zucchini and yellow squash are still producing, although they have slowed down as well. Today I've decided to take 3 or 4 tomatoes and put them in the frig, make some tuna fish salad and stuff the tomatoes for supper. I think I'll fix the broccoli by steaming it and putting a cheese sauce over the top and add some crackers. That should be enough for supper. I may make some zucchini bread or cake which will make Hubby a very happy camper!! While having coffee this morning we had a visitor. It was very young and I got pictures for you!! All I can say to this is - folks, count your blessings - I am!! Have you ever noticed that people nowadays seem to be happy only if they are able to spend and buy more than they had yesterday? Where did that mindset come from? Are we passing it on to the next generation? Happiness is knowing what you have, caring for it and making the most of it. Yes, I'm quite aware that money can and seems to make everything easier - nevertheless, it will NOT buy you happiness. Counting your blessings will remind you of what you have - what you truly have and what truly makes you happy. Consider these - family, time, peace, quiet, noisy laughter, walking, running, tasting, hearing, speaking, feeling, seeing, and love. Buy the real stuff - just try.

AuthorMy name is Nina. Southern Indiana has been my home since 1952. I've been a legal secretary most of my adult life and for my leisure time I enjoy everything connected to the world of herbs and cooking is almost like a "fever". I am also quite opinionated but try not to push my opinions on others. My family is grown and I'm left with a wonderful hubby sharing life with me. I'd guess you'd say my passion is living that life to the fullest. Archives
