I'm going to take Banana Split Cake with me. One of my nephews loves that cake and always wanted me to fix it at Thanksgiving so since I'm not doing Thanksgiving for the entire family anymore I've decided this will be my dish on Saturday. I'll put the recipe on my Recipe Page, though I'm sure most of you already have it.
It's about a 3 hour drive to get there. It starts at noon with terrific eats, next comes our game and then we'll try to be out of there in time to get home before dark. My hubby doesn't drive in the dark as well as he used to plus we need to get home and feed the animals. But we're so looking forward to the visit.
I'm going to make pickled garlic today. I've wanted to make this for awhile now and since I have a little time - why not! Garlic is just so good for you but sometimes it's a little hard on a stomach and this is supposed to be a way to use it that's both delicious, maintains its medicinal effects but will not bother the stomach. We'll see how this all pans out. It has to sit for awhile so it's not a short procedure. I'll put the recipe on the Recipe Page as well and when it's all finished, which will take about 2 months, I'll let you know how it turned out and what it tastes like. It's a recipe from Rosemary Gladstar's Book, Medicinal Herbs. I've used a lot of her recipes so I have no doubt it will be fantastic.
