I honestly don't know what made Aunt B sick but she's still hanging in there and is looking a little better. I just make sure that she drinks some water every hour. I put her in a separate pen with water and food and set the pen so she could see the rest of her gang. She is the top of the pecking order and I can tell they miss their leader. I've cleaned and scrubbed the chicken coop and hope that none of the other five contract the same "whatever". They show no signs. I'm bummed but I know that raising any kind of animal carries with it the risk of loss. The thing is-I was really careful and I was a good and very conscientious chicken keeper and still, evidently it wasn't enough. It's just a little depressing. But, then again, she's still hanging in there.
I must say I don't have a whole lot else much to talk about today. I spent almost every minute either in the barn with Aunt B or walking around wringing my hands. I think I've turned into an old worry wort, and over chickens! Who knew?!
