My husband and son got up and started cleaning off the deck and took the tractor and cleared our lane and the gravel road that runs in front of the house. It looks like we may make it out of here and get to Indianapolis tomorrow to celebrate Christmas with our son, his wife and our two granddaughters – if we’re lucky!
The men came in the house when they were finished and I fried up some bacon, ham and eggs over easy with toast. The over easy eggs were upon request of my baby boy!! He likes to eat my homemade hot sauce on his eggs too and loves my homemade fig jam on his toast. After breakfast I went to the freezer and got out my special Taco Dip and will spread sour cream on top and take that to Indy tomorrow at the request of my oldest son. Hey, I only get to indulge my boys on special occasions – I can’t help myself. It’s not like I get to indulge them everyday, ya know?
Anyway, all the gifts are packed up and sitting by the door waiting to be put in the truck and I have this one more evening with my youngest and he’ll be on his way back to Norfolk and to his wife. She likes my herbal blends so I’m sending a bunch of them back for her. You folks who have your family living around you don’t realize how nice it is. Oh, I know sometimes it’s probably a pain but you know what they say, “The grass is always greener”.
I want to go sledding. Both the guys look at me and roll their eyes. But doesn’t that sound like fun?!!!!
