Did any of you see the moon last night? It was gorgeous, wasn’t it. You'll have another chance to see it tonight. Just remember, "This evening will not pass this way again." There will never be another one just exactly like it.
As we ate our oats this morning we were gazing out our windows and there across the lake were 2 deer. Such a pleasant sight, but . . . it won’t be long and we will have to get the soap barrier up because those beautiful deer can be
very damaging creatures in your garden!!
Right after work today I had to run to Kohl’s to pick up a shower and a wedding gift for a new bride-to-be. Seems like a billion years ago I was a young bride and yet in so many ways, only yesterday. I remember back then I received a lot of corning ware, the white stuff with the little corn flower on it, remember? It was all the rage. Oh, and blenders were the "in" thing too. I can’t believe that we used to take cans, soup cans and Pepsi cans, and roll our hair with them - and sleep with them in our hair!! I simply cannot believe I used to do that!! Mini skirts and leather go-go boots and, believe it or not, there was a very short space of time in the 70's that big beautiful hats came back in. Only lasted a couple years but ooooh, I loved them!! We didn’t have cell phones, computers, GPS, drones, micro waves or CD’s back then either. Times have certainly changed! But some things remain the same. True love is ageless.
I’m grilling chicken tonight, stir frying some peppers and onions, throwing a couple baked potatoes in the oven and cutting up a fresh pineapple. I love baked potatoes but when I’m trying to eat more healthy I have to be careful. I put peppers and onions on top of the potato and it makes it wonderfully full of flavor and a nice option to butter and sour cream. Sometimes I even skip the potato - I could eat those veggies all by themselves. I often add mushrooms to the mix and when squash or zucchini (and cherry tomatoes too) is available from my garden - who needs potatoes!!
I can’t decide whether to pull the lasagna out of the freezer or make chicken tetrazzini. That decision needs to be made here in a little while for tomorrow because I’ll be outside all day working in the gardens and won’t feel like messing with cooking dinner. Actually, I might do both - have lasagna tomorrow and tetrazzini Saturday!! Hmmm . . . that’s an awful lot of heavy food . . . so maybe not. Perhaps I’ll throw a round steak or a venison roast in the crock pot with some veggies and let it go at that. One way or the other I get to play for the next 2 days outdoors - that’s what’s important! LOL!
