This morning I was taking a break in the gazebo and up over the hillside came a raccoon and promptly went under my gazebo. Drat it!!! I can't let her stay there!! She'll eat everything in my herb and vegetable garden!! I think it was a she too. She looked awfully heavy to me!! I sure don't need a family of raccoons moving in.
Whew!! I've been working most of the day outside and I do mean working hard! I've cut, pulled, raked and hauled off about a dozen wheelbarrows full of old leaves and stuff. My herb garden though, is beginning to just barely take shape. It's my own fault. I left it alone this past year for the birds and animals to munch on. I left all the seed heads and stems and didn't clean it up like I did the year before so it's got to be done now. It's okay though. I'm glad I chose this Winter to leave it all out there because it was a long cold Winter and I'm sure the animals made good use of it all. Of course, it means more work now that Spring is here but I can handle it.
Hubby worked on our grill today and when he got it all ready he turned that baby on and I began to drool. Just the smell of the gas grill got me to thinking about grilling out. So, I pulled out a sirloin steak to thaw and that's what we had for supper. It was good but I do declare just sitting around smelling it cooking made my day!!
