I got up this morning at 6:00 a.m. filled my coffee cup and an extra "to go", got on my hoodie, heavy coat and boots, and went out and sat in the herb garden. It was kind of cold but nice enough since I had gotten bundled up. The birds were just going wild!! Seriously, it is almost noisy when you actually focus on listening to all the sounds of the morning. I sat on my bench and watched the sun come up over the trees and simply thanked God for how richly blessed I was to be sitting there under blue skies, being able to hear all the sounds of Spring and feeling so contented - just plain contented.
Went to work today and had a pretty full day. On my lunch hour I went out and bought a couple Boston Ferns to hang on the deck and a few flowers to plant in my pots. My plans are to get home, change clothes and pot them up. My umbrella and deck pillows are all a bright yellow and I bought red flowers. The colors on my deck will be bright and uplifting, if nothing else!!
After work I visited another garden market and bought a few more flowers. I could kick myself--but when you get there the flowers are so amazing and so colorful. There's no wonder flower markets do such a great business. It's a little bit like food - you just can't seem to "taste everything."
So, I got home, hung my beautiful ferns and flowers, went into the house made a meat loaf, and cut some corn off the cob to cook up. Made some toasted bread and put some pearsauce on the table. Believe it or not, it was a pretty good supper. We didn't overeat and the leftover meatloaf will make some mean meatloaf sandwiches tomorrow for lunch. I fixed hubby some pudding and he was a happy camper. He had his sugar fix.
Well, I'm going to quit typing and repot all the smaller plants I bought because there will be no foolin' around tomorrow. We will be planting beans and corn and all the rest of my herbs and flowers. Big Day Ahead!!!
